Pizza Hut Robbery - Investing in Gold & Silver - Beautiful Florida Weather
I awoke this morning around 6:30am. In the same clothing I went to bed in, which is exclusively 100% cotton boxer shorts, I went to my balcony and sat in my leather recliner. Reclined, taking in the beautiful breezy south Florida weather, I imagine the temp is in the low to mid 70's.

On the local channel 7 news this morning, is a report of a local Pizza Hut that was robbed last might. I wrote a post with in this blog almost a year ago pertaining to the casual observation that Pizza Hut is a cash cow who's doing like $1,000 an hour in business on their busiest nights. I guess crooks also observed this phenomenon and waited to criminally capitalize on it. South Florida and all over the country and world I guess, crime is on the rise as a sign of our troubled times.
I keep hearing from people at large, our government is flooding society with freshly printed cash and that paper money will inevitably decrease its value and buying power. I hear that investing in gold and silver is what people need to do in order to preserve the value of their cash.
Although I was a numismatist two or three decades ago, from what I am told, gold and silver investing has nothing to do with numismatics, which has to do with the rarity of a coin, but purely and simply based upon the silver or gold content of coins or bullion.
I know of a guy who owns a pawn shop and was chit chatting with him as he was taking a cigarette break out side of his shop. I mentioned of my gold and silver interest and he highly recommended it. He said that gold and silver always were the protector of value in money.
He wanted to teach me a brief lesson. He said, back in 1964 or earlier, a quarters value was 25 cents. It was issued via our government like how all money is issued, as a value exchange.
He said, in 1964 that quarter would buy 25 cents worth of items. Gas back then might have been about 25 cents a gallon and that quarter would buy a gallon of gas. Today a gallon of gas is like $3.50. A quarter of 1965 does not have the 90% silver content and is only worth 25 cents, but the 1964 quarter, due to its silver content, is worth about $6.25 today. THAT is how pre 1964 silver coins protect the value of your money against inflation, compared to paper money.

Maypos.net Ice Cream Truck
I was driving down Oakland Park Blvd earlier today. Actually a few hours ago. I was in traffic and in the lane next to mine, a car or two up, was an ice cream truck. It was a Ford van, high top type version. The kind that probably at one time was an ambulance and was later converted to an ice cream truck.
It was sorta kinda your basic ice cream truck. Not beat up like some of the older ones, but as far as ice cream trucks go, this was just another one of them.
On the back of the truck was written in neat letters. >>> Maypos.net.
I am the type that I jot down most any web site link that I see. Out of curiosity, I ponder what the web site might have to say.

Another Few Hours of Kayaking in Fort Lauderdale
Today was another day spent on the water kayaking. I was in the mood for wider expanses of water and beautiful houses in the back ground. I paddled between Sunrise Blvd and Las Olas Blvd, on the intracoastal and the Middle River. Some times I paddle close to shore or the sea walls, as I want to avoid boat traffic. Today I stayed in the middle of every body of water I paddled in. I wanted the widest expanse of a view and to be the furthest away from land as possible.
The view when staying in the middle of a channel is similar to the view people have on land and see you from a distance. It is more vast and beautiful. You really get a picture of the majestic beauty of some of the palatial homes on the water.
I did a Zillow search of one home that I paddled past. Simply and purely it is a magnificent palace on the water. 13 bed rooms and 17 baths, 13,000 sq feet and it's for sale for $16,990,000.00. It's not the largest nor the best house in this area, but it typifies what many of the homes in this area are like.

One palatial home had a vast sport fishing yacht at its dock. I will post a picture of a sport fishing boat that is maybe 80' long. No kidding, the sport fishing boat at this guys dock was at least 130 feet long. It was almost strange to look at how long it was.
The very nature of how sport fishing boats are built, the forward 3/4 of the boat is pure hull with no windows. On this 130 foot sport fisher, I would estimate that the first 90 to 100 feet had no windows and the aft end was about 30 feet of cock pit in which a fishing chair would be for reeling in your gigantic fish.
As you glance at the enormous homes from the distance as you kayak past them, you are definitely reminded and are aware that some people make bucket loads of money and their annual income is in the multi-millions. These are the top CEO's, top sports players, movie stars and perhaps owners of sporting teams. You have got to be the rich of the rich to live in a $20 million dollar house and have a $10 million boat at your dock.
For some people, making lots of money is easy. Well, maybe not easy, but these people created a niche for them selves and it seems that large sums of money are no problem for them. They need many thousands of dollars a day to simply pay for their houses, boats, taxes, help, etc etc.
The sun is setting. It's Nov 28, 2012 today and the air temp out side was about 75 degrees. In other words, shorts and a t-shirt are perfectly comfy to wear. Just prior to darkness, I paddle back to shore, put kayak in my vehicle and drive on my way home.
Prior to putting the kayak in the water I stopped at Miami Subs and ordered their gyro platter.
Which is lots of lamb meat, a pita, french fries and a Greek salad.
Use your AAA card and get 15% off at all Miami Subs. If you like Key Lime pie, you must try it at Miami Subs. Sinfully sweet and just the right tartness.
A fine finish to your gyro platter.
A couple hours paddling on the water, warm air temps, beautiful scenery, zero expense.... enjoying God's natural beauty and bonding with nature. An early evening well spent.

On the NW corner of Cordova Road and 17th St Causeway used to be a gas station, and it's now a bank.
Same goes for the NE corner of Cordova Road and 17th St causeway. It was the Texaco gas station which also had a small grocery store, car wash and mechanic repair shop, will soon be another bank.
Gas stations seem to be going under and banks or Walgreens / CVS's are buying up the properties and building their stores.
